John Carolin Becomes The New CEO Of Blokchain Insurance Company B3i
With the support of 40 members Insurance industry blockchain group B3i’s platform is one of the most anticipated products in the blockchain industry. Now a new CEO has been appointed in John Carolin.
Before becoming the CEO, he was the Interim CEO for the last 4 months and the CFO of the company since March 2018. Prior to working with B3i, he was the founder of AdChooza , a web-based media marketplace for Print, Broadcast and Outdoor advertising. He has done his Master of Commerce from the University of Cape Town.
As interim CEO, John had supervised the delivery of B3i’s first product, a Cat XOL reinsurance placement system built on R3 Corda distributed ledger technology which will be released later this month.
Antony Elliott, Chairman of the Board of B3i, said:
“John has a unique blend of experience working with both corporates and start-ups, which the Board of Directors and I believe makes him ideally suited to lead the new B3i. He has demonstrated as interim CEO that he understands both the insurance market and how to deliver a compelling product.”
The Blockchain Insurance Industry Initiative (B3i) is a collaboration of insurers and reinsurers formed to explore the potential of using Distributed Ledger Technologies within the industry for the benefit of all stakeholders in the value chain. It is focused solely on developing and testing technical developments aimed at better serving customers and enhancing transaction efficiency, thus promoting competition.
John when asked about his appointment, said:
