John McAfee is Luxcore Decentralized Exchange’s New CEO as They Bid Farewell to Brian Oliver
Luxcore Bids Farewell to Brian Oliver as CEO, and Welcomes John McAfee to Replace Him
In a post on Twitter on August 13th, followers of Luxcore were the first to find out about the latest change to the leadership at the company. The post reads:
We are excited to announce @officialmcafee as the new CEO of Luxcore! John's appointment is part of a massive personnel reorganization designed to drive significant and rapid business growth for $LUX. It’s the dawning of a #NewEra. https://t.co/dMuyfU4TF6

They also wrote about the transition on Medium’s blog as well. It seems that the purpose of Oliver’s departure as CEO was intentionally to open the door for McAfee to take over.
Luxcore wants to work on the development of security and privacy products, and the addition of McAfee supports their goal to continue to grow their cryptocurrency – the Lux Coin. McAfee made his own statement about his new role with the company, saying:
I have accepted the position of CEO of LUXCORE. They have been working hard behind the scenes and will soon announce the availability of Blockchain features we have all been waiting for. I will still continue lead Team McAfee on its adventurous journey. https://t.co/2ZznLwbNZG

The company, which thrives on blockchain technology, is working on an algorithm that helps to develop their current products, which include the Lux Coin, LuxGate, and Parallel Masternodes. Overall, they want to make blockchain technology into more of a mainstream option for companies. Rather than advertising the technology, they are making it possible for the everyday consumer to engage in blockchain with various use-cases, for which it has been developed.
McAfee’s resume alone is enough to put trust in the cryptocurrency expert. By bringing him into the discussion, he can use his experience that he has gained from creating and expanding on technologically-based companies, like the anti-virus company he founded in his name. According to Medium, this new CEO
“will leverage both his extensive business acumen and considerable social profile to drive real and sustainable growth in the Luxcore project.”
Along with the addition of McAfee, this announcement also says that the company is looking to introduce SegWit. The algorithm will allow the platform to take on bigger transactions and improve scalability for the blockchain. This will coincide with the launch of the Lux digital wallet. Months before the launch, McAfee had already voiced his love for LUX as one of his “top 3 coins,” responding to a post on Twitter.
It is clear that McAfee is encouraged by and excited about his role. In a statement, he said,
“Luxcore’s rapid development of game-changing technology requires a rapid escalation of business growth. In order to achieve the company’s growth targets, there will be a heightened emphasis on strategic marketing of products such as the PoS web wallet and the yet-to-be released LuxGate cross-platform exchange. I am excited about our aggressive growth strategy and the many innovations yet to come.”
Love him or hate him, McAfee knows how to draw a crowd. If you check the twitter comments on the two tweets, you will already see a growing list of people that are either happy or skeptic of him becoming CEO. Here are a few of the best reactions:
Strange how that works. Isn't it?

Wrong question. The questions are: "What eruption has McAfee orchestrated that is going to change all of our lives? And "How can I assure McAfee that I am 100% on his side?

I manage. That is all that matters. I created the most successful software company in the world – McAfee inc.. – while on the run. Expand your mind. Accept the unlikely, even the impossible. Being on the BBC run is an advantage.

They called Tom Cruise first. Then Donald Trump. Then Bernie Madoff. After that, through the intermediary of a Gypsy Fortune teller, they offered it to Kanye West, who had no clue. Finally me. I said yes because my lips refused to form the "NO" that my mind was trying to form.

You might want to consider whether competing against me now might cause you more discomfort than competing with me when I was younger.
