John McAfee Asks People To Stop Sending Him Bitcoin
Would you ask people not to send you more Bitcoin than they are already doing? John McAfee, the famous crypto troll and promoter, has done just that.
At the moment, McAfee is cruising around the world because he actually fled the U. S. He owes some money to the Internal Revenue System (IRS), so he decided to leave the country after he was accused of tax evasion.
Yesterday, he decided to tweet the back of his Bitcoin credit card for some reason. He also affirmed that people could send him Bitcoin “as a test” if they wanted to.
What McAfee did not expect, however, was that so many people would actually send him the money. Several users decided to send him BTC, something that would not happen in most communities, but seem to be more normal within the crypto community. He received a total of 0.00185 BTC (just over $10 USD), though, which made him ask people not to send him more money.
He tweeted once later saying that the IRS already hated him and that he did not want more trouble, so he asked people to stop sending him money.
The reason why he was so scared was that he is already being chased by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and the IRS, so any misstep could mean jail time if he was not careful.
Should he be so worried, though? Probably not, because he is already in very hot water. He has acknowledged publicly that he did not file any tax returns in over eight years because “taxes are illegal”. Well, tell that to the government, McAfee.
In any case, McAfee is still one of the best jokes in the crypto community. He is probably getting arrested as soon as he enters the U. S. but he says that he will be the president next year. And every time he keeps pumping Bitcoin as if prices are magically going to be high.
Some like the joke a lot, others do not, but the truth is that McAfee is definitely a person that attracts a lot of attention in the crypto world and he better not publish any BTC addresses unless he wants people to donate.
