Kayne West’s Wife Kim Kardashian Mentions Bitcoin on Instagram
A reach of 114 million people is huge. In fact, only 11 countries in the world have a population greater than that. However, Kim Kardashian has that many followers on Instagram, so whenever she posts anything it becomes a global news. Recently, she posted on Instagram saying “We moved onto Bitcoin”.
And yes, anything the Keeping up with the Kardashian star does is a headline these days but when you involve bitcoin, you are going to bring all the cryptocurrency boys to the yard. Here is a screenshot of what Kim K had to say while playing her poker game with her sisters and mom.
Social Media obviously started pouring out jokes on this. One Redditor said: “This was the confirmation I was looking for that I've made a sound financial decision.” Some criticisms were for that Kim’s followers are not an ideal target demographic. “Too bad her 114m followers are likely to not be able to tell the difference between bitcoin and bitconnect.” Another added, “15-year-old girls everywhere are now interested in bitcoin, yay.”
Here is the entire night encapsulated into video format (as if you haven't already watched and peeped her channel right?):
As the crypto community yearns for more and more adoption and use case, one can't help but think Kim K's bitcoin instagram promotion mention is nothing but a good thing no matter what your opinion or take is on the mega-superstar. Just as Vitalik Buterin was saying forget Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF institutional money and focus on $5-$100 cryptocurrency cards in corner stores, a simple shoutout from Kim K is surely going to move the needle and make headlines.
Now, as the plot thickens, Kayne West, Kim K's famed husband – is not new to the bitcoin space having his own parody cryptocurrency coin ‘Coinye' created a few years back on January 7, 2014.

In response to Kim's bitcoin story – There were a few serious replies too.
“Not sure I think too highly of that family, but this actually is a big deal in some regards. Any mega-celebrity (especially ones with actual business empires) that talks about Bitcoin is bound to add a decent amount of new HODLR's. Even more important is that she actually showed Bitcoin, and not some shitcoin or ICO scam.”
Her husband, rapper and one of the biggest social media personality in the world, Kanye West, supported decentralization in a tweet.

Even in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Kanye mentioned Bitcoin. He said, “I wanna push future concepts. You know when I saw Harriet Tubman on a $20 bill. That is the moment I felt like using Bitcoin. It’s like those slave movies. Why do you gotta keep reminding us about the slavery? Why don’t you put Michael Jordan on the $20 bill?”
Kanye thinks that Bitcoin is a decentralized, non-political and neutral currency, so it can definitely be a good alternative to fiat currency. He seems to believe that Bitcoin is the future and also unavoidable, so it should be backed.
What do you guys think – should the cryptocurrency community back Kim K and get her to do more paid shilling (this one obviously wasn't paid and was rather innocent) to enhance user adoption and awareness? Rest assured, we will be sure to keep you up with all the Kardashians' bitcoin and cryptocurrency mentions on social media.
