An important player in the hardware wallet market, KeepKey, has announced on June the 6th, the integration of native ERC-20 tokens to its platform. In this way, users can send, receive and exchange among 30 different ERC-20 tokens directly through the wallet.
Moreover, KeepKey users can create and view transactions directly on the device without having to rely on a third-party. Additionally, the device enables the user to see the name of a specific token in the screen, and the total gas cost for the transaction before sending it.
It is important to mention that this hardware wallet has a large screen that allows the user to have a better contact with the device, have more information at any time, and a better user experience.
KeepKey CTO, Ken Hodler, commented about it:
“KeepKey’s large screen was designed to display transaction details in a clear and legible manner. We utilized our screen size for users to see every aspect of their ERC-20 token transactions prior to signing, allowing users to transfer their tokens without having to trust anyone else.”
ERC-20 are used by many ICOs that want to release their own tokens to the market and Ethereum allows them to launch them on its network.
With this new development KeepKey will be able to add support to different currencies including: Aragon, Augur, Basic Attention Token, Civic, District0x, FunFair, Golem, Gnosis, OmiseGo, SALT, Bancor, ICONOMI, Melon, SwarmCity, Wings, iExc, Status, Numeraire, Metal, TenX, Qtum, 0x, FirstBlood, Ripio Credit Network, SingularDTV, DigixDAO, WeTrust, Metchpool, Edgeless, and Storj.
