Kodak Blockchain Picks up Formula One Champ Fernando Alonso’s Digital Library
Fernando Alonso Migrates His Digital Library to Kodak Blockchain
Fernando Alonso, who is known as Lens Mans 24 winner and the Formula One world Champion, maintains a digital library of his personal and professional images. Most recently, he decided to make a bold move and transfer all of this data over to the KODAKOne Platform, due to a partnership with WENN Digital Ince.
The KODAKOne Image Rights Management Platform gives an opportunity for Alonso to protect his information, but his celebrity status may bring in sports fans to the platform. Users can upload, register, and protect their digital content, though it exclusively protects pictures and videos of Fernando Alonso. According to Alonso, “We live in a world driven by content distribution across different channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC. I’m very excited to know that I have the ability to reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity and that the content they produce can be protected by a single platform.”
The CCO of WENN, Benedikt Dohnanyi, spoke about the thousands of images that are taken of Alonso each year, though the tracking of the photos and videos is lost. He says:
“But with access to KODAKOne, he’ll now have peace-of-mind knowing that all his images and videos are protected in one place. Through the partnership, Alonso’s fans will also be able to get rewarded in certain instances for sharing photos and videos from their experiences. Let’s say someone snaps a photo of Alonso from the stands at a race.
Once the KODAKOne platform is publicly available, he or she will be able to instantly copyright that photo by putting it on the platform. Furthermore, we’re collaborating with Alonso to build an ecosystem on the KODAKOne platform that will ultimately allow the fans to then use these rewards on various services, fan engagement initiatives and products within this ecosystem.”
He added that this deal is important to sports figures, in reference to fans and work.
In the interview, Dohnanyi also confirmed that they want to launch the coin for the platform by the end of 2018 or the beginning of 2019. He also stated that there are other partnerships in the works, though information will not be released until later on.
