Kraken’s Growing Leadership: New CMO, Engineering VP, OTC Trading Head, Biz Op and Counsel Hires

Kraken is growing in leaps and bounds and this is best evidenced by its latest expansion. The US-based, Canada-operating crypto exchange – the planet’s leader in Bitcoin-Euro trade volume, is undergoing massive growth. For this, Kraken is proud to present five new members to its management team.

They Include:

Matt Mason

In order to keep scaling higher and higher, Kraken needs a formidable marketing department. And to fill that void and work as the exchange’s Chief Marketing Officer is Matt Mason, a seasoned marketing guru boasting two decades of experience.

Matt was the force behind a host of products and multinational brands today. He’s also an author of a best-seller, “The Pirate’s Dilemma” a book that speaks about innovation and disruption. He is an immediate former Studio Head at Sony’s 1-800-N0TH1NG having served at BitTorrent Inc before.

Bob Zagotta

At every stage of growth of business are key optimizations and innovations. The executive team at Kraken relies on the Business Operations and Strategy Department to forge any strategic directions that initiate growth and expansion. It is for this reason that Kraken is recruiting Bob Zagotta to head the Business Operations and Strategy docket.

Bob, just like what the job descriptions entailed, has immense knowledge and experience in all-things business strategies and operations. His colorful 20+ years of experience in organizing and launching new brands, initiating growth and taking over international markets is incredible. He, therefore, joining after leaving CME Group’s senior management team.

Nelson Minier

After increasing its Over-the-Counter department to 18 professional traders and support staff, Kraken needs someone to effectively manage the team and deliver top-notch services to its growing list of clients. The 18 members work remotely from as far as Europe, Asia and across North America.

The best person for the job is Nelson Minier, a known performer with about 20 years of experience in several blue-chip companies. He will be Kraken’s head of OTC Sales and Trading, a position that will require the experience he amassed working at JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Credit Suisse, and Citibank.

Mary Beth Buchanan

Kraken deserves a super-strong attorney who is also experienced in matters digital currency businesses to handle its legal matters, especially at a time when the industry is heavily regulated. It needs to understand various legalities, compliance and judicious and impartiality in its operations.

Kraken has hired Mary Beth Buchanan to be their General Counsel. Mary Beth isn’t a newbie in the scene having spent more than 30 years in the legal profession. She has worked in a host of environments, including as an attorney for the US government and at the United Nations and Department of Justice. Her immediate former position was at Bryan Cave LLP where she was both a partner and head of their digital currency team.

Steve Hunt

For Kraken to keep its reputation as a hub of superior trading experience, it must have a top-grade engineering team. It is, therefore, hiring Steve Hunt to the docket of VP of Engineering – an expert in trading technologies and someone who knows the art of initiating strategic partnerships.

Steve is joining Kraken from Jump Trading where he was their CTO. He is extremely experienced in developing algorithmic trading networks having been engaged in them for over 20 years, managing a crew of over 120 members.
