Dash Signs a Partnership With Kripto Mobile to Launch a New Cryptocurrency Ecosystem in Latin America
Users in Latin America will now be able to acquire, store and spend Dash with the latest KRIP phones.
Dash is one of the most important virtual currencies in the market, and it is used for payments and e-commerce activities. This time, the company has announced a partnership with Kripto Mobile Corporation (KRIP), and important mobile company.
The main intention of the partnership is to provide Latin Americans with an innovative way to acquire, store or send virtual currencies. The interesting thing is that the phones will come preloaded with a Dash ecosystem. That includes the Dash wallet that would allow users to send and receive funds through other partner apps such as Bitrefill.
The partnership was launched on August 25 in Caracas, Venezuela, where the biggest Dash community in the world is located.
Bradley Zastrow, Dash Core Group Head of Global Business Development, commented:
“We all know that fiat payments take too long and cost too much, and that cryptocurrencies have the potential to affect real change, especially for people experiencing hyperinflation where cryptocurrency is less volatile.”
At the moment, the Dash community in Caracas will start working with over 800 merchants accepting Dash. Some mainstream brands such as Calvin Klein and Subway are included among these merchants.
The partnership with KRIP is also very important because it will allow users to use their phones immediately after with access to internet.
Those KRIP phones will include a paper wallet with pre-loaded Dash for users to scan and upload into their Dash wallets. Users will have the possibility to send, spend or store their Dash as they consider.
Users will not have to deal with the risks associated to carry so much cash, pay high fees for bank transactions, or wait a long time to receive the payments.
Zastrow believes that in order to generate mainstream adoption it will take more than just sporadic airdrops or giveaways. The KRIP phone is unique and provides great functionalities for a good price. Zastrow said:
“Right out of the box, even users who have never interacted with cryptocurrencies have everything they need, and by working closely with the Dash community and Dash Help Me, new users have the necessary support structure in place should they need assistance.”
In Venezuela, Dash has more than 800 merchants alone that are accepting Dash at the Point of Sale and online. The InstantSend technology allows people to pay for goods in a similar way as credit cards do.
Users will also have access to Bitrefill’s service in which they will be able to buy digital goods and pay for gift cards or online games, among other things.
Having Dash and a payment service that process payments instantly and with low fees is very important in an economy in which price fluctuations can severely damage citizens and their funds. Users paying for Bitrefill with Dash will receive 10% discount on their purchases.
Luis Sosa, KRIP co-founder, said that there is a transition period in Latin America where unbanked users are starting to embrace virtual currencies. He commented:
“We are seeing an incredible transition period in Latin America with those who are unbanked, underbanked, or simply do not want to use the traditional banking system. Combining our accessible, affordable phones with Dash’s InstantSend transaction capabilities and low fees will provide a myriad of benefits of these communities.”
With the addition of Bitrefill and other apps linked to Dash it will be very simple and easy to start using virtual currencies.
KRIP phones are currently being sold in Latin America for over $100 dollars. KRIP and the Dash Core Group will hold monthly sweepstakes for KRIP users to win Dash each month.
At the moment of writing, Dash is being traded around $152 dollars and has a market capitalization of $1.26 billion dollars.
