While feelings regarding initial exchange offerings (IEOs) have been mixed since their very inception, there is no denying that this unique fundraising method is here to stay. From a technical standpoint, we can see that IEOs operate primarily within secondary markets — as a result of which many of their associated tokens have recently skyrocketed in value (while some have fizzled out completely).

Thus, in this article, we will take a look at the overall market sentiment towards IEOs by analyzing the ROIs raked in by the first wave of these novel monetary offerings.

When talking about digital fundraising methods, it appears as though the term IEO has suddenly caught the fancy of crypto enthusiasts all over the globe. For example, one only needs to take a quick look at various Reddit threads and Telegram channels to see how famous this new money-raising technique has become over the past 6 months or so.

In regards to the matter, Priority Token’s Artur Boytsov recently gave an interview where he pointed out that the origins of the first IEO can be traced all the way back to 2017. However, the method only started to gain widespread mainstream traction at the start of this year.

On the subject, Boytsov added:

“At least 15 exchanges which have either started supporting IEOs or announced that they are developing an IEO concept.”

Also, it should be pointed out that recently, crypto exchange platforms such as Binance, Kucoin, Huobi, and ZBG have hosted a number of IEOs that have been met with amazing investor response. In fact, these offerings are expanding so quickly that it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of new launches taking place on an almost daily basis.

Lastly, in terms of their performance, we can see that the ROIs and all-time highs (ATH) of this years best-performing IEOs have been nothing short of remarkable.
