LibertyX’s Bitcoin ATM Network Grows to 20k Retailers Including 7-Eleven, CVS, and Rite Aid
LibertyX, the most extensive Bitcoin ATM, kiosks, and cashiers distributor in the U.S., announced a partnership with 7 Eleven stores, Rite Aid Pharmacy, and CVS pharmacy to enable BTC retail buying capabilities in over 20,000 stores across the U.S.
According to the announcement, users will be allowed up to $500 in purchases a day through a mobile app. Through the mobile app, available on the iOS App Store and Play Store, users will be allowed to select their preferred retail BTC store and start a purchase in advance.
Bitcoin's promising start a decade ago was hindered by adoption constraints such as trust and accessibility of BTC hence the launch of LibertyX in 2014 to solve the problem. In January 2019, LibertyX gained its New York State BitLicense approval allowing it to carry out money transactions within the state.
According to the Co-founder and CEO of LibertyX, Chris Yim, the aim of the Bitcoin exchange is to allow anyone to “buy bitcoin at familiar locations they drive or walk by daily.”
So far, the company operates over 25,000 retail Bitcoin purchasing points – 20,000 cash accepting retail locations and 5,000 debit-accepting ATMs spread across the U.S.
“At its core, bitcoin is a global and inclusive technology. Anyone with a mobile phone and an internet connection can store, send, receive, and transact value with bitcoin. […] No matter your payment preference, you can conveniently purchase bitcoin from a trusted local store.”
In an aim to advertising the new locations, LibertyX waivered fees on select stores of 7 Eleven, CVS, and Rite Aid Pharmacy, through 31st July 2020. Users who have used the product are already heaping praises for its accessibility and cheap BTC.
