Litecoin (LTC) Becomes Miami Dolphins ‘Official Crypto’ For 50/50 Charity Raffle At Football Games
Litecoin Becomes Miami Dolphins Official Cryptocurrency
Litecoin has become the official partner of the Miami Dolphins, who released a Press Release on 11th July making things official. This partnership would sure give the fourth largest cryptocurrency a massive exposure, and certainly help its cause especially when the Block Reward halving is just around the corner.
The Miami Dolphins and Litecoin have also partnered with crypto payment merchant called Aliant payments as a move to help the team donate half of its revenue to charity. The team will play its 50/50 raffle and half of their match revenue would go towards the charity, only this time around the payment will be done Litecoin.
The partnership between the cryptocurrency Litecoin and Miami Dolphins would also let the fans buy game tickets using Litecoin or Bitcoin either through an online portal or via in-stadium kiosks at Hard Rock Stadium.
Both BTC and LTC are technically similar given litecoin is a hard-fork sibling of the pioneer Bitcoin itself. Litecoin separated from Bitcoin to ensure a better block generation time, better scalability and lower transaction fee than Bitcoin. And looking at the progress they have made over the years, it seems the decision of forking from the main Bitcoin chain was a right one.
We are excited to announce Litecoin as the Official Cryptocurrency of the Miami Dolphins! 🏈
Litecoin Foundation is partnering with @MiamiDolphins and @AliantPayment to allow NFL fans to #PayWithLitecoin.

What Would Litecoin Gain From the Miami Dolphin Partnership?
Apart from gaining a much necessary exposure to the larger world, where people would get to use the cryptocurrency for buying their game tickets and merchandise. Apart from that Litecoin would also feature in Dolphin’s in-game branding. This partnership would be an advertisement gold for the fourth largest crypto.
Charlie Lee, the founder of litecoin believes the partnership with Miami Dolphins would help them educate the public on advantages of using Litecoin and cryptocurrencies in general. He said,
“This collaboration propels Litecoin in front of an audience of millions of people around the world at a time where adoption of cryptocurrencies continues to gain momentum and the ecosystem is able to support real-world use cases in ways previously not possible. We see this as a powerful way to raise awareness and educate people about Litecoin and cryptocurrencies on a tremendous scale.”
There has been quite a surge in cryptocurrencies partnering with mainstream sports ventures and teams to get that extra shard of exposure to help their cause. Earlier Litecoin also became the title sponsor for UFC main event back in December 2018. This also made them the only cryptocurrency to sponsor an event of that scale. Apart from the brand and team partnerships, cryptocurrencies have finally started to see mainstream adoption, especially in the sports field.
Portuguese sports club SL Benfica also partnered with a crypto payment merchant called Utrust which allows crypto fans to buy tickets and merchandise from its official website using cryptocurrency. The services were open from June and accept Bitcoin, Ethereum and Utrust own native token called UTK.
