Litecoin To Sponsor Nashville Radio Station “Young Country”, aka YoCo, Will be Ad-Free for 2 Months


The world of crypto and the arts have intertwined at many points in time and for various reasons. Various works of art have been tokenized for commercial purposes and various artistic platforms have made use of blockchain to track distribution and earnings so as to better pay artists.

There has also been the sponsorship aspect of it as a number of blockchain firms have sponsored several artistic endeavors over the years such as Litecoin sponsoring a film festival in 2018. While it would seem that Litecoin is at it again as it has been announced that they will be sponsoring a radio station that aims to blend various genres of music.

The man behind this project is producer Polow da Don who is a music producer and has helped produce several chart-topping music hits for the last decade for artists such as Nicki Minaj, Fergie, and Usher. Now the Nashville-based producer intends to launch a country-pop crossover radio station that will be sponsored by Litecoin.

Details About the New Product

The radio station will run on WYCZ-FM and WYZC-AM and due to the sponsorship, it receives from Litecoin, Young country the name of the station, will air commercial-free for the first two months. According to the producer, the aim of this new platform is to ensure that young people have a space in which they can have control over and curate what exactly they are going to listen to you. This not only benefits the consumer but will also allow the producer and others within the music industry to track various trends among consumers and thus, create products that will appeal to them.

“I’m trying to create a platform where artists can do their own thing. We want the kids to take it over and tell us what’s cool. They’ll be able to dictate what’s hot and I’ll be something of a curator. It’s a station to provide an outlet for all the artists who feel they don’t have a voice in country music,”

he said.

The producer, generally, is quite crypto-friendly and states that he intends to work towards stylistic mashups that will not appeal to the traditional country music gatekeepers but will be innovative nonetheless. He also aims to expose music-lovers to cryptocurrency through the Litecoin sponsorship as well as pushing the boundaries of what is considered money and helping crypto reach a wider audience through his own platform.

As such, fans of the radio station will be able to pay for official merchandise and events using Litecoin which will be a great boost. Litecoin generally has been very dedicated towards partnerships with mainstream firms in order to get their name out there. This included sponsoring a UFC match in 2018 as well as a film festival. In April 2019, Litecoin got another partnership with C&U Entertainment Global who is a concert production company as a means to reach millions of music fans at a K-pop concert.

So far their strategy of aligning themselves with mainstream companies has proved very effective and is helping them get to the forefront of mainstream attention and should more crypto companies follow in their footsteps, more of the general public will likely become aware of the benefits of cryptocurrency and more adoption will be achieved.
