Loci – InnVenn Helps Find Patents & Affordable Ideas Research?
Loci is a patent search platform that promises to change the way we invent and value ideas. Find out how this ambitious project works today in our Loci review.
What Is Loci?
Loci is a company that aims to change the way we invent and value ideas. The company specializes in simplifying the patent search process.
Today’s patent search process isn’t ideal. There are millions of patents, and inventors who struggle to determine when they’re infringing on someone’s patent, or what else has been invented. Loci wants to change that by using unique visualization systems to understand the “landscape of ideas”.
Their core product, so far, is called InnVenn, a visual searching tool for patents. That system was designed to simplify the patent search process and make it easy to see which areas of invention have not yet been patented.
You can try Loci’s InnVenn for free through LociPro.com. The company’s pre-sale is scheduled for July 25, with the public token sale taking place in August.
Loci is also exploring the deployment of InnVenn on the Ethereum blockchain. The developers see an opportunity to use Ethereum’s smart contract features to secure patents on the blockchain.
How Does Loci’s InnVenn Work?
Loci describes the modern inventing process as “broken”, “convoluted and fraught with expense”. All of these problems stifle innovation. Many inventors are forced to go straight to market. Other inventors never follow through with their great idea. Loci’s InnVenn wants to change that. The company’s vision is to make the process so easy and efficient that it spawns new invention and innovation.
InnVenn is particularly catered to those who frequently need to search through patents, including patent attorneys, inventors, and corporate analysts.
As the LociPro.com website explains:
“Those working in industries where understanding the landscape of intellectual property is crucial are Loci’s main demographic. This includes IP attorneys, enterprise IP managers, business and market strategists, investors, inventors, patent researchers, and patent offices or databases.”
Loci aims to offer a superior search experience for all of these groups of people.
How does InnVenn aim to offer a superior search experience? Loci claims its product is based upon a number of patented innovations that covers its application into the fields of law, competitive intelligence, investment management, curation, patent clearance, legal discovery, big data analysis, decision making, product design, intelligence, and more.
Those patents include a system and method for fuzzy concept mapping, voting ontology crowd sourcing, and technology prediction.
Loci And The Ethereum Blockchain
Loci’s InnVenn is available today as a working demo. However, Loci’s developers are also trying to deploy the platform using the Ethereum blockchain.
The developers see an opportunity to use Ethereum’s smart contracts to secure intellectual property for inventors and companies. Right now, Loci uses an intuitive user interface and machine learning technology to help inventors search for technology. Starting September 5, however, Loci will migrate over to the Ethereum protocol and begin testing its smart contract technology within the InnVenn platform.
Who’s Behind Loci?
Loci is led by CEO John Wise, who worked as a team manager, mechanic, and data engineer for some of the top teams in American racing over a 15 year period. John has extensive experience in aerodynamic engineering and data analysis.
Other key members of the team include Brian Hwang and Eric Ross. The company is headquartered in Sterling, Virginia.
Loci InnVenn Pricing
The InnVenn platform is available through a free trial on LociPro.com.
If you want to subscribe to the full platform, you’ll need to pay a membership fee of $249 per month.
Loci’s InnVenn is a patent search application that makes it easier for inventors to innovate. The platform is already available online through a free demo, and there’s also a working application used by an active userbase of inventors and companies. Priced at $250 per month, the platform lets inventors, patent lawyers, and others involved in the patent industry get a visual representation of what’s been invented.
InnVenn isn’t based on the blockchain right now. However, starting on September 5, the platform’s developers will migrate to the Ethereum blockchain in an effort to use Ethereum’s smart contracts to secure patents across the network.
