MetaMask Shares Details on How The Ethereum Web Browser Application Is Currently Being Used
MetaMask, one of the most popular ERC-20 wallets and Ethereum (ETH) web browser, has released information about how their services are used. In order to gather information about how the services are used, the company asked its users to opt in to a metrics system through an extension. The information was released by the company in a blog post on May 23.
MetaMask Releases Metrics About its Business
As per the blog post, the data collected by the company shows that out of 275,000 users, 72.6 percent decided to take part in the metrics system. Metamask has seen 89,000 new wallets that were created and 53,000 imported wallets. Moreover, users only completed the new wallet on-boarding process 79 percent of the time.
The company measured 65,000 weekly active users but the estimated actual number of users is close to 90,000. The monthly active users that they measured is 192,000 and the estimated actual is currently 264,000.
As per the report, there were 1.1 million transactions through MetaMask and an estimated 1.51 million transactions. Furthermore, Sixty-three percent of the transactions took place on the Ethereum mainnet. At the same time, the report found that 18 percent of the transactions were to move tokens, 12 percent to move Ethereum, 3 percent for approving, 2.5 for transfers and 0.2 percent for contract deployment. 64 percent included other contract interactions.
At the moment, the top five dApps on the Ethereum mainnet included 0x Universe, CryptoKitties, Dice 2 Win, Axie Infinity and also Fork Delta. Things were different on MetaMask where the most used dApp was Remix, followed by 0x Universe, CryptoKitties, MyEtherWallet and also Fork Delta.
