Jesse Lund IBM’s Global Head Of Blockchain Leaves The Company
Jesse Lund, the head of blockchain technology for financial services and digital currencies at IBM is leaving the company. This is according to a spokesperson for IBM that talked with the crypto news outlet CoinDesk on May 28.
IBM Losses Its Blockchain Lead
According to a spokesperson to IBM, Jesse Lund is no longer employed by IBM. About his departure, the spokesperson explained that the company does not discuss the specifics of the decision of its employees.
After a chat with Lund on LinkedIn, CoinDesk states that he remains optimistic about payments innovation using blockchain technology. Lund had the challenging task at IBM to help banks and other companies explore stablecoins, central bank digital currency (CBDC), and other solutions for enterprises.
Moreover, he has also worked with the Wolrd Wire payment network that used the Stellar (XLM) blockchain network to make cross border payments easier, faster and cheaper for companies. In addition to working at IBM, he worked at Wells Fargo and enticed six banks onto the World Wire platform. The banks that decided to join this network include RCBC from the Philippines, Brazil’s Banco Bradesco and Bank Busan from South Korea.
Moreover, Lund has also worked at the Blockchain provider R3 where he was able to sign several partnerships with other firms.
