New Bitmain Antminer S15 Bitcoin Mining ASIC Comparison vs Its Crypto Competitors
Bitmain Releases Its New Antminer S15 To Keep Ahead of Competitors
Bitmain has already released the new Antminer S15 in order to keep competitive in the crypto mining market. The price of each unit is $1,475 dollars and each user can buy just two of them. The new Antminer S15 can be purchased through Bitmain’s official site.
The new miner has a power of 23 terahash per second. Bitfury is currently offering a Bitcoin miner known as Tardis that has a power of 80 TH/s. Nevertheless, Bitfury’s miner can cost up to $7,000 dollars per unit.
Nevertheless, Ebang, another major mining hardware provider in the cryptocurrency world, will start selling its Ebit 11+ miner that has 37 TH/s and costs $1517 dollars. Interested investors will have to make big purchases, starting at $75,850 dollars, meaning that it will not be available for smaller miners.
The minimum investment at Ebang would allow a user to have 1,850 TH/s. Although this is a good power, the investor would not be able to perform solo-mining activities in a profitable way. It is much more profitable for investors to mine virtual currencies through mining pools.
Mining activities have become very expensive in the last months. Is not easy for miners to keep their activities going for a long period of time with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency prices in the lowest point in a year.
At the beginning of the current year, with the prices of the most important virtual currencies skyrocketing, was very profitable to enter the crypto mining market. This is why since November 2017 until August 2018, the bitcoin hash power grew more than ten times.
Since its all-time high in August with more than 61 million TH/s, Bitcoin’s hash rate has fallen around 30%. On November 8, the hash rate was 43 million TH/s.
