New Clovr Survey Shows John McAfee Ranked As Most Influential Cryptocurrency Supporter
John McAfee Ranked The Most Influential Crypto Evangelist
Clovr, a popular survey platform, recently surveyed 500 blockchain enthusiasts regarding their most influential crypto figure. At the end of the survey, controversial CEO and tech personality John McAfee emerged as the most influential crypto influencer.
Digital investors do not readily trust figures in the crypto trading community, especially those voices in the social media who try to force one exchange or coin down the throat of developers and users through enticing shills, promotional campaigns and consistent pumps.
Well, one of those loudest advocates of crypto in social media is McAfee, a well-known self-styled cryptocurrency evangelist and promoter. Participants in the survey were pooled across age range, political leanings, and sex.
Per age, participants in the survey were between the ages of 18 and 73, with an average age of 32 years. 42 percent of respondents indicated themselves to be Republicans while another 56 percent were Democrats, with other political parties abstained.
McAfee has been on social media, campaigning for crypto and blockchain for some years now, using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube to provide insights, updates and predictions.
A list of 80 industry influencers was compiled from which voters were asked to choose. Their preferences were collated based on the number of followers each industry personality control on each of the four social media.
The voting was intended to create a sort of meta-ranking that will produce one figure out of the pool and designated as the most influential.
One more interesting part of the whole thing is that besides coming out as leader in social media followership, McAfee has gained the trust of many followers. Despite pulling some shady stunt in the past, McAfee still earned the trust of majority of followers, coming out first among all other competitors presented for the ranking.
The antivirus trailblazer also defeated all contenders when it comes to different age grades, gender influence, and political leaning. At the end of the survey, Clovr which surveyed 500 researchers concluded that
“when it comes to influencing the decisions of blockchain investors, it’s John McAfee’s world — we just live in it.”
McAfee Did Not Win It All
McAfee did not get it all despite these records. The researchers concluded that McAfee still has some dark spots.
Female participants (who constituted 26 percent of the respondents) did not give the top ranking, placing him in number five, with more than 80 percent of those who preferred him coming from one social media platform Twitter.
Political leaning apparently does not really show any significant impact on crypto users, with Democrats rooting for ETH Buterin while GOPs prefer Litecoin’s Charles Lee.
Meanwhile, the irony for Lee is that he came second with the Republicans who are known as cryptocurrency enthusiasts, but expectedly came too distant from top five among Democrats. In the same vein, Buterin earned the second place among the Democrats, but failed to impress the Republicans.
