Tech And Telecom Want To Invest Millions In Blockchain
Deloitte conducted a recent survey and found that 40 percent of Telecomm Media, and Technology (TMT) executives want to invest millions in blockchain research next year. The study, published on Tuesday morning, featured a report from Deloitte Center for Technology, Media & Telecommunications as well and it provides a wide view into how technology could be applied to those business sectors.
The researchers surveyed 1,053 executives in seven countries and found that 84 percent of respondents “believe that blockchain will broadly scale and reach mainstream adoption.” Further, 59 percent say that they believe blockchain could disrupt their industry, while 29 percent joined a blockchain consortium.
Interest in blockchain seems to have grown as well. Deloitte predicated that blockchain revenue is set to grow from $340 million in 2017 to $2.3 billon by 2021. The firm’s report also featured other data points that highlight an increase in interest concerning financing – for example, venture capitalists have invested $1.3 billion in blockchain startups and developers are looking into the technology.
