New HTC EXODUS 1 Blockchain Phone In-Wallet ERC-20 Token Swaps via Kyber Network Partnership Available
We at BitcoinExcchangGuide had bought you the story of HTC working on their second generation smartphone. According to Phil Chen, the Chief Decentralized Officer of HTC, they want to boost smartphone sales and expand the blockchain ecosystem of the company.
The new smartphone is expected to extend its supported blockchain apps. There will be new areas such as browsing, messaging and social media that will be able to release their apps through this phone and reach new users. The phone is also going to include personalized e-wallets.
The company has recently revealed that its second generation of Exodus will have in-wallet cryptocurrency trading for users. Notably, this feature comes because of a new partnership which makes HTC add the liquidity protocol from Kyber Network to its Zion Vault wallet app.
The users are given the ability to swap between ERC-20 tokens such as Brave’s Basic Attention Token (BAT) and MakerDAO’s DAI stablecoin, straight to Zion Vault, eliminating the requirement to first move tokens to third-party cryptocurrency exchanges.
Currently this security enclave support Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), ERC20 tokens like BAT, the native token of Brave browser that comes installed in the phone, and some of the ERC721 tokens as well.
Chen had stated:
“The ability to swap ERC-20 tokens on chain in the Zion Vault without relying on third-party exchanges is another step in empowering the user and maximizing security and privacy, which is at the center of the EXODUS mission.”
Thus, by releasing the EXODUS 1s, HTC will offer crypto lovers with a novel product that looks to bring the best of both cryptocurrency and blockchain to them. There are other phone makers such as Samsung that are also starting to develop different services for cryptocurrency and blockchain users. Samsung released the Galaxy S10 smartphone with a crypto wallet embedded.
