New Interview With John McAfee Talks Presidency And Cryptocurrency, Spat With Calvin Ayre
John McAfee Talks Presidency And Crypto
In an exclusive interview with AMBCrypto, John McAfee spoke about a number of currency topics such as his upcoming presidential run, the crypto community and twitter feuds.
One of the first things that he touched on was his upcoming presidential bid and whether he felt that a future president could embrace crypto. According to him, this is quite unlikely and if a president did roll out a Cryptocurrency, it would have to be federally regulated. As for his presidential campaign, McAfee doesn’t actually plan to win the race but instead it using this as an opportunity to promote crypto, which is no surprise as McAfee is a noted crypto enthusiast.
It was this love of crypto that pushed him to join the libertarian party for his platform. Also, he says, neither the Democrats nor the Republicans would embrace Cryptocurrency unless they would use it as a means to spy on people. For now, recommends that the crypto community turn to privacy coins.
“Neither will fulky (fully) embrace it. Both will attempt to issue a FederalCryptocurrency that, I promise, will be a tracking mechanism for users. Just don’t use it. Use a privacy coin instead,” he said.
Public Funds
McAfee was quizzed about his opinion of Universal Basic Income [UBI], and whether Cryptocurrency could be used to achieve this, he stated that he does not believe in handouts to the general populace because it does against the idea of survival of the fittest.
“I Don’t believe in Universal Basic Income. Life is, and always has been, a battle if the “Fittest.” People have to work, risk. experiment, attempt, suffer hardships, learn, accept, adapt. It can be no other way if our species is to survive,” McAfee stated.
Seeing The Future
Like many crypto enthusiasts, John McAfee has made some bold predictions about the future price of Bitcoin, most notable claiming that it would reach a million dollars by the end of 2020. He stands by this prediction and is unphased by the upcoming halving of Mining rewards saying that they would only help his prediction.
Moving away from Crypto-related talk, McAfee spoke about the recent shooting tragedy in New Zealand and stated that this could have been avoided to a degree.
“If everyone in the Mosques had been armed, the death toll would have been minimal. An armed society is the only safe society. And armed societies are the most polite in the world as we learned from the “wild west” period in America. Everyone was armed,” he said.
