Blockchain has done more than created a new industry, but it has also generated a host of jobs. One of the hottest jobs in the field is blockchain developer. According to LinkedIn’s 2018 Emerging Jobs Report, blockchain developer is a rapidly emerging job.
The report’s conclusion is based upon data from an economic graph describing positions that companies are have been hiring for lately and the skills within those positions. The required skills include blockchain, ethereum, solidity, cryptocurrency, and node.js.
The blockchain developer position has seen a 33 percent increase in the past 12 months. The most demand for the job is in New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco.
Another top emerging job in the industry is artificial intelligence specialist. According to the report, “six out of the 15 emerging jobs are related in some way to AI.” A few of the major skills required for an AI position include machine learning, deep learning, apache spark, and language processing.
Cointelegraph also recently reported that there are 645 job vacancies use terms such as “cryptocurrency, “bitcoin,” and “blockchain” in 2016. By 2016, the number of jobs in this area has grown to 1,775 vacancies. The majority of those vacancies are concentrated in the largest cities in the United States.
Even Facebook has posted several blockchain-related jobs on its website.
