Did Ripple Acquire MoneyGram Or Is It Fake News?
There have been several users claiming that Ripple is planning something “big” for the near future, but none of them supposed or hinted that this could be related to Ripple acquiring MoneyGram. CryptHawk said that Ripple acquired MoneyGram on Monday after discussing some issues since November 2018.
Several individuals and users on social media asked him how he got access to this information but he was not able to answer how. Nonetheless, he keeps repeating that Ripple purchased the money transfer company earlier this week.

At the moment, there is no official confirmation nor from Ripple neither from MoneyGram, which means that it is not possible to confirm this information. Back in January 2018, the firms signed a partnership in order to work together and improve cross-border payments. MoneyGram had also decided to pilot XRP in their payment flows and work with the xVia product.
This rumor about Ripple purchasing MoneyGram spread throughout the internet with several users believing that this acquisition was real. However, the recognized XRP supporter Bank XRP said that there was nothing official on the matter but that all the community was waiting for it to happen.
Meanwhile, PAYMNTS informed that MoneyGram was working in order to restructure its debt and it was seeking a buyer.
Meanwhile, XRP Research Center wrote on Twitter that this was a false rumor and that CryptHawk was trying to scam the community with fake announcements about Ripple and MoneyGram. Meanwhile, C3|Nik and Tiffany Hayden supported what XRP Research Center informed about it.
