New Survey Poll Of 10,000 Europeans Concludes Bitcoin Will Not Survive Ten More Years
European Poll Shows Bitcoin Could Not Survive Ten More Years
According to a recent poll conducted by the blockchain company bitFlyer in Europe, investors and individuals do not seem confident about the future of the most popular digital asset. The survey included 10,000 individuals located in 10 different European countries. The firm has also asked these users about the future of the crypto market as a whole.
Europeans Not So Sure About Bitcoin’s Future
The Japanese crypto blockchain company bitFlyer is trying to understand what investors in different countries believe that will happen with Bitcoin (BTC) and the cryptocurrency market in the next ten years.
Most of the European surveyed seem to be more bullish about virtual currencies than about Bitcoin. Just 49 percent of the surveyed individuals said that Bitcoin will exist in the next ten years. Meanwhile, 63 percent answered that the crypto space will exist in the same period of time.
Bitcoin is the most popular and known virtual currency in the market and it is usually a hedge against the extreme volatility of other virtual currencies. At the same time, Bitcoin is the most accepted virtual currency worldwide and there are many merchants working with this digital asset.
Since Bitcoin was created, there are thousands of new projects and digital assets that were released to the market. This has increased the interest of investors for other virtual currencies. In the next 10 years, Bitcoin could change and other cryptocurrencies could emerge that would compete for a large share of the market. Although Bitcoin’s market share has dropped from over 85% in 2017 to 54% at the time of writing.
Bitcoin could clearly grow as well in the future, but individuals are sure that cryptocurrencies are here to stay and that they will be playing an important role in the economy and other sectors. Until now, Bitcoin has been the frontrunner in cryptocurrency mass adoption and there are several firms working in order for it to keep spreading around the world.
Currently, Bitcoin is being traded under $5,300 and it has a market capitalization of $93.6 billion.
