- Telegram launches an official test client for the TON
- This platform works with the Fifit programming language
The popular messaging application Telegram has officially released a test client for the Telegram Open Network (TON). This is according to files that were posted on test.ton.org a few days ago. Telegram has been working on this network since 2017.
Telegram Releases TON Test Client
The new files that are currently available to download are related to a preliminary version of the TON Blockchain Network Lite Client. At the same time, there are some relevant portions of the TON Blockchain Library. This is a simplified stable version related to the Lite Client.
A few days ago, a GitHub user located in Ukraine uploaded a version of this client that would have allowed users to connect toa full node for the TON blockchain testnet. Users can also install a configuration file for smart contract development.
In this way, users will be able to create smart contracts, audit other existent smart contacts on the platform, send external messages to these contracts, and many other things. The new platform uses Fift, a new programming language for TON that was released last week. With this language, it is possible to develop and manage TON blockchain smart contracts. Furthermore, developers will be able to interact with the TON Virtual Machine through this programming language.
Telegram is one of the largest messaging applications around the world that is very popular among the crypto community for its privacy features. The Telegram Open Network was 70% done back in November 2018. At the moment, there is no official information regarding an official launch date for the network.
