Newest China CCID Crypto Rankings Sees Bitcoin Fall to 19th as EOS and ETH Maintain #1, #2


Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) of China recently updated their ranking for cryptocurrencies. EOS maintained its ranking as number 1 while BTC fell to the 19th spot.

This list was notably the fifth iteration issued by CCID. The first came out in May which had Ethereum leading the pack while Bitcoin came in 13th. The second version came in June which saw Bitcoin falling to 17th place. It was from the second version the EOS started dominating the lists, which saw the coin overtaking Ethereum.

CCID evaluated 33 different cryptocurrencies on various factors. All the leading projects till rank 5 remained the same from the previous list. In the ranking order, they were EOS, Bitshares, Steem, Ethereum, and Gxchain.

China Updates Crypto Ranking, Downgrades BTC Further

In the latest list, Ethereum came in 2nd. It is important to notice that it was way ahead of its competitors like Ethereum Classic. Bitcoin was also significantly higher than Bitcoin Cash. The list was prepared by the CCID Blockchain Research Institute, jointly with the CCID ThinkTank, a subsidiary of the China Electronics and Information Industry Development Institute, and the China Software Testing Center.

The center appreciates both EOS and Ethereum in the report. Tn their words, they say:

“At present, EOS and Ethereum are undoubtedly the preferred platforms for Dapp development worldwide, and EOS is showing a stronger momentum. The data shows that EOS Dapp is highly active and user increments are large.”

BTC did not fall behind in all the categories. In fact, they topped the charts in creativity. BTC was closely followed by Ethereum while EOS, Nuls, and Carno came in third, fourth and fifth.
