Notorious CryptoJacking Malware Coinhive Closes While Mozilla Browser Beefs Up Hack Security
Coinhive Closure And More Vulnerability?
According to Malwarebytes, Cryptojacking is “an emerging form of malware that hides in your device and steals its computing resources in order to mine for valuable online currencies like bitcoin.”
One of the most challenging aspects of cryptojacking is that it is getting more difficult to detect. This means that victims of cryptojacking are often unaware that they are being affected. And in turn, this can lead to some significant and disappointing losses. Even large cryptocurrency platforms have not been able to escape from cryptojacking.
The cryptojacking issue may become more difficult, now that one of the most prominent platforms that provide cryptojacking solutions is set to close. Coinhive has been serving the industry well, with cryptojacking malware such as Cryptoloot and Rocks.
Given that Coinhive’s website is no longer accessible, it seems that it truly has shut down.
