OnChainFX Data Shows Top 6 Crypto Tokens Adding Blockchain Data the Fastest

Cryptocurrencies That Are Currently Adding High Data Volumes To Their Blockchain

Whenever a discussion arises touching on the numerous cryptocurrencies that are currently available in the crypto universe, it becomes important to also touch on the length of their blockchain.

There are cryptocurrencies that have a tendency of adding large volumes of data to their blockchain as compared to their competitors. The following list comprises of cryptocurrencies that have been actively adding data to their chains in the past twenty-hours. They have been ranked based on the size of the data. The information used to rank them was obtained from OnChainFX.

Ethereum

It should not come as a surprise to note that Ethereum is one of the fastest growing chains in the world right now. The reason why Ethereum is leading in terms of the data being added can be traced back to its smart contracts.

The ICO token prices and dApps being added to the blockchain has also contributed to this addition. Currently, the blockchain adds close to 166MB of data each day. For a blockchain, this is rather worrisome, although it appears as though the platform has plans to solve such issues in future iterations.

Bitcoin

Given the fact that Bitcoin is currently the leading cryptocurrency in the world over, it is only normal for one to expect its blockchain to be among those that are growing at a very fast rate. But as you can see, this is not entirely the case.

Bitcoin currently adds a total of 87MB each day, which is not a bad figure, all factors considered. You should, however, note that this amount is quite steep, as has been seen in its past documentation.

Monero

It is important to note that there is a very big difference between Monero and the other available cryptocurrencies. This is a platform that comes with an optional privacy feature for all its platform users.

This feature is what makes it one of the most privacy-oriented platforms around. However, the platform has continued to suffer from blockchain bloat mainly due to the method it uses to privatize its transactions. On a day-to-day basis, the platform uploads a total of 73MBs.

PIVX

PIVX is a cryptocurrency that mainly focusses on privacy. However, you will note that it is not mentioned as often as the other platforms. Even so, the network has been growing at an incredible rate, which has seen it upload 34MBs of data within the last twenty-four hours.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin’s popularity continues to increase with each passing day. Its popularity is linked to an increase in the number of native transactions being transacted on a daily basis. The last twenty-four hours saw a total of 14MB being added to its blockchain. All things considered, this is a healthy figure for a blockchain that not many people have been taking seriously.

Litecoin

For a cryptocurrency that does not have a specific smart contract or dApp, Litecoin is still managing to add a large amount of data to its chain on a frequent basis. In the past twenty-four hours, the chain added a total of 12MB. This means that there is a significant number of transactions taking place on a regular basis.
