OpenBazaar Version 2.2.0
With the new Version 2.2.0 of OpenBazaar, vendors will now be able to use a special new listing type to sell cryptocurrencies on the platform. At the moment, they can only choose from 44 different virtual currencies, but in the future, there will be added support for many others. The payment must be settled in whichever coin they have decided to use for their OpenBazaar store – either Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), or Zcash.
It is important to mark that OpenBazaar allows users to sell and buy cryptocurrencies at market prices, but the platform is not an exchange, and it doesn’t offer an order book.
The post reads as follows:
“Because OpenBazaar is completely peer-to-peer, this is not an exchange. This new feature doesn’t include an order book with the ability to choose a target price for buying or selling. This new feature only allows people to trade cryptocurrencies directly with each other at market prices. It benefits from OpenBazaar’s main advantages; users trading cryptocurrencies on the platform won’t need to pay any fees and they aren’t forced to reveal any identifying information.”
OpenBazaar explains that they have been listening to the community and taking the comments so as to improve the platform.
Moreover, OpenBazaar will be introducing an opt-in analytics package in which users who choose to opt in, will be able to share non-identifying data with the development team. In this way, the platform would be able to implement better improvements in shorter periods of time.
Among the new features and improvements we can find:
- The ability to buy and sell cryptocurrencies.
- An opt-in analytics package.
- Norwegian, Polish and Ukrainian translations.
- Unfunded orders will be hidden by default.
Furthermore, the developer team was able to fix several bugs and solve other minor issues.
