Opera Releases New Desktop dApp Browser With Integrated Ether (ETH) Blockchain Wallet
Opera Launches New Desktop Browser With Integrated Blockchain Wallet
Opera, one of the largest web browsers, has launched a new desktop version of its browser that has a built-in crypto wallet. The browser is called Reborn 3 and it can be downloaded in Mac, Windows or Linux operating systems. According to Cointelegraph, the new browser will also allow users to interact with the blockchain-based internet.
Opera Launches New Browser With Crypto Integration
The Reborn 3 will include the Opera Wallet and a Web 3 explorer for users to have an enhanced connection with the virtual currency and blockchain ecosystem. Users will be able to conduct transactions, interact with decentralized applications (dApps) and have better privacy.
The web browser will include a VPN feature that will enhance users’ privacy and security in a world in which all companies want to obtain large amounts of data from users. The Opera Wallet synchronizes with the Opera browser for smartphones, allowing users to store the private keys in their smartphones.
In a press release shared with Cointelegraph, Opera explained:
“In practice, whenever they need to identify themselves to a Web 3 website or sign a transaction on the blockchain, users get a notification on their smartphone. They can confirm it in the same way they unlock their system, using, for example, facial recognition of their fingerprint.”
During the last years, companies on the internet gathered a lot of information from users due to the fact that browsers did not protect users’ privacy. With the new VPN service integration, customers will be protected from third parties that requested geographical location and other private data.
Opera announced more than a year ago that they were launching protection against cryptojacking attacks. Several users were targetted by hackers that aimed at stealing users’ CPU power to mine virtual currencies without their consent.
The blockchain-based web browser Brave is also offering users similar services. Brave allows users to have more control over their data and information. At the same time, it works with the Basic Attention Token (BAT), one of the largest digital assets in the market.
