Opera Will Bring Its Crypto-Friendly Internet Web Browser to iPhone via ‘Opera Touch’ App
Opera Touch was an Opera browser which was recently released for Android. The difference between this browser and all the others is the strong focus that it has on cryptocurrencies, as it was specifically devised in order for people to use the “decentralized web”. Now, as reported by The Next Web’s Hard Fork, the new browser is also coming to iPhone.
Apple users rejoiced as now they will be able to use the new Opera Touch browser on their iPads and iPhones. The new browser lets the user interact with Ethereum-based apps, just like apps like MetaMask.
At the moment, the timeline of the launch is not yet clear, though, so it can take a while before the iOS version is finally complete.
Opera Touch will have a crypto wallet and it will let the users store and transact ERC20-based tokens using it. Other non-fungible assets such as the tokens of the once popular crypto collectible game CryptoKitties will also be accepted in the wallet.
According to the initial announcement of Opera, this app was made in response to the strong Ethereum community, which asked for it. The fact that the app was released for both Android and now iOS is also standard, but the Android version came out first.
Opera is also partnering with HTC in order to devise a third version of the browser, a version that will be specifically created in order to be used in the Exodus 1, the official Opera phone.
At the moment, the community is waiting to know whether this new app will start to raise crypto adoption or not. More and more companies are offering crypto and decentralized apps on their phones, so it looks like the future is crypto.
