OptDyn’s Subutai Blockchain Router With PeerOS Cloud Computing Platform Is Here
Even as we are moving towards the decentralization of most industries, there is one centralized service that always stays with us, Cloud. Whatever we do online, whatever we store or whatever we access, we directly or indirectly depend on it. But this is set to change.
Subutai’s mission is to democratize the cloud. Subutai invokes the disruptive forces of a cloud sharing economy to achieve these ends.
Cloud democratization leads to a supernova of potential hosting targets with different devices available to them on the edge. This, in turn, increases the efficiency of the cloud by allowing it to get closer to its users on the edge. It also unifies the Internet of Things and the cloud as one unified continuum.
Recently Subutai announced the creation of a cutting edge Blockchain Router v2.0 and open IoT hardware. As a hardware appliance the router comes already installed in Subutais's PeerOS hardware. The Subutai PeerOS software can detect other computers with Subutai Bazzar installed and allows users to rent and share idle computer resources.
Subutai, a turnkey Cloud solution aimed at the global $1.5T telecommunications industry, allows providers to instantly raise and operate a sharing economy using their own Ethereum Token with their existing Internet subscribers. The Subutai open source project and its community formed in 2013 to build a peer-to-peer (P2P) cloud and fog computing platform called Subutai. The software was first released in April of 2014 under the Apache Software License 2.0.
OptDyn designed the Subutai product line to democratize, disrupt, and commoditize cloud and IoT services. Subutai reduces the cost of cloud utilities down to their absolute lowest limit and accelerates the “race to zero”. The cost of providing cloud services could be reduced to the price of the electricity and communication services.
Products and Services
- Sabutai Peer Operating System: Subutai’s PeerOS is a multi-platform open source software bundle that enables users to share, barter or sell computing resources on the Subutai Platform. It is the building block of Subutai’s P2P cloud services. The software is free and open source. Anyone can install and run the Subutai PeerOS. Its source code is available on the GitHub.
- Subutai Blockchain Router: The Subutai Blockchain Router is an adaptive Wifi Router, Ethernet Switch, and IoT Gateway device for homes, small and branch offices. In addition to using it like any other Wifi Router, it comes preinstalled with Subutai tuned and hardware accelerated by FPGA resources inside. It’s ready to use plug and play Subutai appliance to power up and connect your computers and devices in minutes. Like the Subutai software, the hardware router can also be registered with the Hub to start sharing resources immediately.
- Subutai Bazaar: It is the P2P cloud market and social environment for the Subutai Platform. Through the Bazaar users can sell, barter, share or hire computational resources and server applications from other users. The Bazaar congregates Peers provided by the community of users running Subutai PeerOS.
KHAN is an Ethereum blockchain-based reserve currency token. It is the utility token used by all bazaars and is the default and ubiquitous currency across the Subutal Platform. KHAN maintains high liquidity and transaction volume to enable global cloud infrastructure. It can be used in escrow accounts for Service Level Agreements(SLA) based on smart contracts.
P2P is the only viable path to cloud computing across residential internet lines using commodity computers on the edge where most devices, the Internet of Things, reside. Running clouds on the edge of the Internet makes running in the data centers of hosting and cloud providers even that much more efficient. As the world’s first P2P cloud and fog computing platform, Subutai takes multi-cloud to its ultimate limit where the number of providers can grow without bounds.
