Over $80,000 in Cryptocurrency Tokens Raised for a Ugandan Orphanage by Free Talk Live & Friends
There is no denying that digital tokens, cryptocurrency, and acts of philanthropy accompany each other.
That's why it is not surprising that on March 25th, 2019, the independently run and syndicated Free Talk Live broadcast show announced that they had managed to raise over $45,000 in digital money towards a noble cause – the construction of Ugandan orphanage.
It is in the same breathe that they had been able to amass another over $35,000 in cryptocurrencies that was meant to go towards the purchase of the land that was to house the orphanage. FTL had also looped in other key players and contributors such as Bitcoin.com, Cell411 and the Shire Free Church in the quest to raise this much-needed capital.
That being said, the orphanage construction and land purchase will assist the tiny sleepy village in Uganda to be in a position to self-sustain themselves while the residents will now be able to channel some of this freed-up energy to other economically constructive things such as tending livestock and growing crops in a small scale fashion.
Going by the announcement that was put up by FTL, the listeners of the radio show participated in this funding process by simply making their contributions to FTL's crypto tip jar.
The jar/wallet accepts BTC, DASH, BCH, and ETH. They were also able to make donations in other coins such as Stellar through Shapeshift. FTL airs every day of the week starting from 7 to 10 pm Eastern Time on approximatel7 200 different radio stations.
One of the program's co-host – one Mark Edge – has held the belief that the true power of digital money crowdfunding is one of the core initiatives of this popular talk show as the Ugandan orphanage fundraising drive has demonstrated.
