Play2Live Releases Open Beta Test of Internal Blockchain for Gaming Streamers
Play2Live Releases Open Beta Test of its Own Blockchain
An announcement from Play2Live indicated the release of the public beta test blockchain streaming platform to its streamers and gamers on the platform. The blockchain streaming platform will allow the users monetize their interactions on the platform through different schemes. Everyone in the chain will be able to benefit – whether streamers, viewers or eSports tournament organizers. The decentralized nature of the blockchain makes the peer to peer transactions possible.
Play2Live Introduces Blockchain To eSports
Play2Live announced back in August the release of the beta testing phase that was available to the media representatives and accredited streamers in order to check the operational capacities of the platform’s basic functionality. This move was followed up by the release of the public beta version that allows anyone to participate in the blockchain based platform.
eSports has seen an increase in global adoption and the growth of the sector has too seen a massive leap in the past few years. Play2Live CEO Alexei Burdyko shared some of the unique features to be introduced by the blockchain. One of these incredible features is the possibility of gamers buying, spending and earning LUC tokens directly on the company’s website.
The LUC Tokens
These LUC tokens are used on the blockchain for various purchases. Furthermore, LUC tokens allows gamers and users of Play2Live to create different monetization options on the platform including, voting and assigning special tasks to streamers. Since August 15th, after the closed beta test version was announced, the company started the buyback of the LUC tokens. Users can redeem 10,000,000 to 100,000,000 LUC tokens on the website that will facilitate the trade with an exchange at $0.05 USD per LUC token.
The company also made efforts to increase the upload speeds and the speeds of delivering content to the streamers and gamers. Play2Live have introduced Content Delivery Network (CDN) technology in a bid to increase overall speeds on the platform including upload speeds of software, video, game and any other content to be passed on the Play2Live platform.
Play2Live has built a neural network through algorithms with the ability to follow up real-time monitoring of streaming videos, recognition of complex objects and video content. In addition, the neural network will control over 200 streams simultaneously with little computing resources needed. The network will also be responsible to assign tasks to the gamers on the platform.
The multicasting functionality was another special feature added to the open beta test that connects a stage for hundreds of streamers and gamers who provide content for popular games. The multicast feature will also be used in broadcasting eSports tournaments at fast speeds.
Security Of Blockchain Technology To Play2Live
Blockchain technology offers a safe, cheap and secure platform for eSports management and gaming against hackers. Well, according to Vladislav Arbatov, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Play2Live, the transparent nature of blockchain combined with the huge computing power and distributed architecture keeps the CDN resistant from DDoS attacks. DDoS attacks is one of the most persistent means to hack the platform.
While testing the blockchain during the closed beta phase, the Play2Live blockchain reached speeds of up to 10,000 transactions per second. This represents the quick nature and scalability properties of the platform. The cryptographic nature of the blockchain will provide extra protection for identification of the gamers and streamers too as Arbatov said,
“Thus, Play2Live will be the first platform in the world that uses compact devices to provide information protection to the user and ensure the safety of their identification.”
The team is continuing to invest in their security protocols, Arbatov added. Play2Live is also asking testers to send feedback to help.p2l.tv, aiming at further development.
Security is a major concern for the team at Play2Live as they continue expanding into blockchain technology. With the company heavily experienced in international eSports competitions, the addition of the blockchain is set to boost the company’s reach in the field of eSports and gaming.
