Polychain Partner, Web3 Foundation Executive Departs Both To Start “The DAO” Project
Web3 Foundation (W3F) director and Polychain Partner Ryan Zurrer has called it quits from his positions and announced that he will be working on a DAO project.
1/7 I will be gradually off-boarding from @web3foundation to focus on investing & specifically DAOs. I want to thank @gavofyork & the whole Web3 team for their trust & support. I am really proud of the progress that the team undertook over the last year. https://t.co/etU9tVPoBb

After a decade of toiling in renewable energy centered on the consultation, improvement, performance, and operation of utility-scale renewable generation assets, he found Bitcoin in late 2012 and consequently grew passionate about the Ethereum ecosystem and blockchain technology generally.
He established as an Angel Investor supporting start-ups developing deeply compelling innovations with blockchain-enabled networks.
He then shifted his focus on finding projects and technical teams that could accomplish meaningful network effects with the right tokenization strategy for the Polychain Capital fund as well as finding great investment partners to help Polychain Capital continue its outlier growth.
Polychain Capital combines the best of venture capital, connecting directly with entrepreneurs at an early stage to seek exceptional results with the best of hedge funds and active trading – taking a quantitative and objective approach to investing endeavoring arbitrage and exploitable negotiating chances.
Now, in a statement, Zurer said:
“With the success of the DOT sale, the success of the Web3 Summit and the Web3 Foundation in a strong position organizationally, it’s an appropriate time to step away. I will migrate and go back to what my primary passion is – deploying capital and helping early-stage teams build new concepts in the space.”
Zurer is a big believer in DAOs and emphasized its importance by saying:
“The dream of a sustainable decentralized organization that attracts and filters for great talent supports genuine innovation and meaningful experimentation, and delivers outlier value to its members is really the most compelling project in my humble opinion.”
Zurrer shared the highlights of his DAO project on his GitHub page that can be viewed here: https://gist.github.com/rzurrer/f5db72f427902300a2e030ccdfda641c.
