Prolific Blockstream Developer Talks New Merger and Bitcoin Lightning Network Features
There may be new Bitcoin Lightning Features on their way. Christina Decker, a lightening developer who helped engineer Blockstream, shared a proposal. The proposal will be elevated to the next stage at CoinDesk Consensus 2019 Conference.
At this point, some consider the lightning network reckless to use, and there are others who allegedly lose funds when using the network. The hope is that the new features on the network will correct the bugs and that it will also create a more efficient payment system. Decker shared with CoinDesk
“This enables quite some cool new features, including multi-path routing, trampoline routing, and so forth. It’s on the agenda for today’s [IRC specification] meeting and I’m confident it’ll get merged today, so we can get started on the next wave of features.”
Decker is also at the stage of the process where he has written a code implementation, which seems to be a useful change. The code implementation features specifications that make interoperable, which means that one individual using the system can also transfer payment to another. This type of system, according to Decker, is a “multi-frame” proposal that
“allows us to include more information in the routing onion.”
