Radar, An Ethereum DEX Creator, Shares New BTC Lightning Developer Tools ‘Radar ION’
Radar Releases Lightning Developer Tools
Radar has recently made a series A funding round in which the company was able to raise over $10 million USD. The company is famous for its work with ETH and for creating Radar Relay, a decentralized exchange which exists without any middlemen on the Ethereum blockchain.
Now, it seems that the company is set to use this money very well. Radar has revealed the plans to launch several new tools for devs who want to work with the Lightning Network, the Bitcoin layer 2 scaling solution that is getting very popular at the moment. The official launch of the tools happened during the Boltathon hackathon.
The tools include some configuration that will help people to be able to launch a Lightning Node and a “playground” which can be used by the people who want to test how well their nodes connect to each other.
Another interesting tool is a liquidity tool that can be used to help the users to ensure that they will be able to receive and send payments without losing them. Unfortunately, the LN is still in development, so there is a recurring problem in which sometimes people may lose their funds.
While people are working to solve this problem and Radar is one of the companies doing it, this kind of issue generally worries the people in the network and is becoming less common, but it still exists.
Tools Were Released For Radar ION
Radar ION, the part of the company’s site that is focused on LN users, will be where the tools will be hosted. Users from the Boltathon who were dedicated to improving the LN were invited to using this technology, but normal users may visit the company’s site in order to acquire them.
The marketing manager of the company, Beatrice Leung, has told the crypto media that the team is constantly looking to develop new and disruptive kinds of technology which can be promising. According to her, there is plenty of potential for the LN.
While the company’s first product was the Radar Relay, which was ETH-focused, Bitcoin is also a huge market, so the company decided that it was not a good idea to solely focus on one network.
At the moment, the company has several plans to build on this initial set of tools which was released and to create many kinds of applications and solutions for the Lightning Network. Another important effort which will be made by the company is to help the developers to create these apps themselves.
Because of this, Leung affirmed, the main focus of the company on the moment is to create the support tools that will let the developers use their creativity for shaping the network into something better.
The Lightning Network was launched at the first semester of 2018, during the end of the Bitcoin bull run, which clogged the network and made transactions very slow. The technology had a buggy release, but it has improved a lot so far.
