RebTech GPU Mining Products Blockchain Motherboard And Video Card Releases
Romania-based RebTech is a relatively small PC hardware manufacturer, but the company is making headlines across the cryptocurrency community today for releasing a lineup of GPU mining-related products.
The company just announced products like the RebTech Blockchain Motherboard and the RebTech Blockchain Video Card. Both products are specially designed with miners in mind.
In addition to the GPU mining products, RebTech is building what they call blockchain mining servers based on the two hardware products.
Let’s take a closer look at the RebTech mining products to see what makes them unique from other options on the market:
RebTech Blockchain Video Card
The RebTech Blockchain Video Card consists of a USB-VGA AMD Radeon RX470 8GB video card that seems like a traditional RX 470 at first glance, but it’s not. The video card is designed specifically for GPU mining, with a special focus on Ethereum mining.
The RebTech Blockchain Video Card comes with a built-in PCI-E extender via USB transfer cable with direct USB connector onboard instead of a traditional PCI-E slot. Although the cards are designed to be used for mining, the cards still feature a single HDMI video output, allowing you to connect a display.
RebTech Blockchain Motherboard
The RebTech Blockchain Motherboard is an 8GPU-MB motherboard that may be more interesting to cryptocurrency miners. The all-in-one solution features everything you need to attach up to 8 GPU miners to it. There’s an AMD A6-8500 CPU with an integrated GPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 120GB MSATA SSD, and 8x USB/PCI-E extenders.
The motherboard is surprisingly small, featuring a similar form factor and size to the GPU. You can mount it just like any other video card.
Another interesting feature of the RebTech Blockchain Motherboard is that the unit is powered with just 12 volts via a single 6-pin PCI-E power connector – again, just like a video card. That would allow miners to go with a cheaper, more efficient server-type power supply that only outputs 12 volts, similar to the setup used by most ASIC miners (but again, designed for GPU mining).
It’s always good to see new mining hardware manufacturers enter the space, particularly with the dominance of major mining hardware manufacturers like Bitmain. The RebTech Blockchain Motherboard and RebTech Blockchain Video Card present an interesting alternative to miners, especially those interested in largescale operations. The products have some interesting and useful advantages, particularly in regards to power consumption and rig setup.
The news was first reported by CryptoMining-Blog.com. However, as pointed out by that writer, RebTech claims to have been founded in 2012, but their website is just 2 months old. It’s unclear if they have operated under a different name in Romania or if they launched a new brand for their mining rigs.
In any case, you can learn more about RebTech’s mining hardware at their official website RebTech.ai.
