Ripple Hopefuls Hint at XRP Token Coinbase Listing with New Listing Policy Details
Will XRP Be Listed on Coinbase After New Policy?
XRP has seen another increase in the last hours which positioned it as the second most valuable virtual currency in the market. After some time in the second place the virtual currency finally came back to its traditional third position.
However, this sudden price increase could be related to a recent announcement made by one of the most important companies in the cryptocurrency world, Coinbase. Coinbase has announced a new asset listing process that could be very promising for XRP.
The announcement was taken in a very positive way by the XRP community, something that could be seen in the price action witnessed by the market earlier today.
The San Francisco based company, Coinbase, has released a new policy to ‘rapidly list all assets that meet our standards and are compliant with the local law.’ Nonetheless, there were no specific announcements related to XRP being listed at the platform.
At the moment, Coinbase has not listed XRP on its platform due to different reasons. In general, when Coinbase is rumored to be listing a new virtual currency, the XRP community gets very excited about it. Coinbase is currently listing Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC).
The company has also plans to expand and offer ICO tokens in the near future. This is why Coinbase is working side by side with regulators in the United States such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
XRP’s price is not the first time that spikes after rumors that it could be listed by Coinbase. The same has happened in the past when the community started to talk about this possibility. However, Coinbase has always answered in a negative way to the rumors explaining that they have a Digital Asset Framework that highlights the criteria for supporting new assets.
XRP could experience a price increase in the coming days. The Swell event that will take place between October 1st and 2nd, could be the perfect place to announce the xRapid product that Ripple has been working on. Moreover, if Coinbase lists XRP, its price would certainly increase.
At the time of writing, XRP is the third most valuable virtual currency and has a market capitalization of $21.39 billion dollars.
