Ripple Supporter Raises Concerns About XRP Ledger (XRPL) Network Decentralization
- The XRP community is getting worried about the decentralization of the network
- The Xpring initiative is also raising concerns about the effect it has on the Ripple network
Ripple, one of the largest companies in the cryptocurrency space, has been working in order to offer fast and cheap cross-border transactions for financial companies and banks. However, there are some issues that seem to be raising concerns among the Ripple community. One of these individuals concerned about decentralization is Tiffany Hayden, which is a very active community member.
Hayden Worried About Validators
In a recent tweet written by Hayden, she said that validators became a central point of failure and something that the network should certainly avoid. She mentioned that no XRPL services with paying customers are running validators as the whole community expects them to do, which is a potential central point of failure for the whole XRP Ledger and network.
They have become a central point of failure, IMO. The exact thing we are supposed to be avoiding. No XRPL services with paying customers are running validators like we expected them to. We have to acknowledge this.

XRP and Ripple have a very active community that defends the project and promote every single new improvement in the whole ecosystem. However, some of the most popular supporters are starting to show some positive critics about the project.
Many individuals and experts consider that Ripple controls the network, being one of the most important validators.
There is also a growing concern about the beginning of the downfall of XRP related to Xpring. The Xpring initiative was created by Ripple in order to promote, invest and incubate different projects related to Ripple and the XRP digital asset. Many of the projects that received investments by Xpring are currently moving away from the XRP Ledger and working on their own projects.
In another Tweet, Hayden wrote that if Ripple shuts down tonight, the network would not last much longer, something that many XRP and Ripple supporters were before supporting. David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO answered that not every Xpring project is going to be working in the future with Ripple. He said that he would be worried if Ripple would not be helping projects that could provide real value to the cryptocurrency space.
Hayden also mentioned that there are not a lot of customers running validators, which could slow the progress of the network towards decentralization.
Now I’ve seen everything. The biggest XRP promoters are turning on it after the price sinks below $0.3 https://t.co/y8iELPByB0

However, Hayden remains a strong supporter of XRP and Ripple as a project, which means that although she has criticized Ripple, these are just welcomed comments that would help the network improve.
XRP is currently the third-largest digital currency in the market with a valuation of $13.49 billion. At the same time, Each XRP coin can be purchased for $0.314.
