Ripple (XRP Coin) Announces Two Top Tier Leadership Team Moves
Ripple’s aim of trying to decentralize Ripple and to ensure that consumers get optimal cross-border payment services is gradually becoming factual.
Today, two improvements have been made to the Ripple’s leadership team. First, Ripple’s former chief cryptographer, David Schwartz, will now take on the role of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Second, a new Senior Vice President has joined the Ripple team, which is none other than Kahina Van Dyke.
Ripple has been known as one to cover several aspects of payment services, including the likes of sending and receiving money, and communicating between banks, a cost-effective and worldwide approach. With over 100 customers worldwide, Ripple’s decision to implement strong leaders that have the capacity to direct a team came at the right time.
According to the CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, both candidates represent “success”. To Garlinghouse, both individuals have
“shown the type of leadership qualities and business prowess that will be instrumental as Ripple continues to grow”. He also shared that that two reflect “two sides of Ripple”, describing David as a leader within the scope of blockchain and crypto, while labelling Kahina a “seasoned veteran” within the financial scope.
Schwartz took the opportunity to accept the challenge as a CTO for Ripple and believes that the team at hand can make “blockchain-based solutions […] a reality”. As for his role, Schwartz expressed excitement in being able to “lead a world-class group of engineers, scientists and business executives.”
Van Dyke also voiced immense privilege for being able to contribute to Ripple. In particular, she said:
“By reducing friction and delivering better options for individuals and businesses, Ripple offers a compelling opportunity to be a transformative force for good in the world of money movement […] It’s an exciting time in the industry – and I feel very fortunate to be a part of creating the next generation of global payments.”
What Goals Will Both Van Dyke And Schwartz Work On?
Schwartz will be leading his team into a direction that will help decentralize the XRP Ledger, which, for the time being, will be the main area of focus. He will be replacing the former CTO, Stefan Thomas, who left Ripple to start a micropayments company that will be “building apps on top of the XRP Ledger”.
As for Van Dyke, who has succeeded within the field of finance and banking services for a steady 20 years, she will be working towards establishing
“strategic partnerships for Ripple across the global financial services industry”.
