Ripple (XRP) Teams Up with Madonna’s Raising Malawi Charity to Match Donations For Children
Raising Malawi Gets Support from Ripple To Match All Donations, Starting July 30th
Most people know about the non-profit Raising Malawi from the attention that Madonna has brought to it as the main coordinator. Ripple recently decided to partner with Madonna’s efforts for the next month to support underprivileged children in Malawi. According to the press release on this effort, Ripple specifically stated that they would contribute the same as every third-party donation.

The organization is a project that was originally created by both Madonna and American screenwriter Michael Berg. In Malawi, there are close to one million children that are now orphans, as a result of their parents contracting and dying from HIV AIDS. With so many children at risk, Madonna recently produced a new fundraising round, in which she plans to raise $60,000. The release said:
“I have an unwavering commitment to providing vulnerable children with a loving home. For my birthday, I can think of no better gift than connecting my global family with this beautiful country and the children who need our help the most.”
Raising Malawi has been around for over a decade and has spent its time taking care of over 10,000 children, providing them with food, educational support, and other necessities and services. In their most recent changes, the foundation has received enough funding to create an entire system for healthcare services. This new infrastructure has been responsible for the pediatric surgery and ICU that the country can use to treat children that need it most.
On these different ways that Raising Malawi has benefited the community, Ripple said:
“Ripple and its executive team care deeply about giving back and eliminating barriers that keep marginalized populations from being a part of our global community. This means fostering programs for financial inclusion, improving access to fundamental human services, empowering teachers, and supporting primary education, and promoting environmental literacy and conservation.”
Through August, Ripple plans to match each of the public donations received by Raising Malawi. The campaign is planned to be lead through Facebook in an effort to sponsor children directly. According to the SVP of Business Operations for Ripple, Eric van Miltenburg, the exchange is:
“honored to be a part of Raising Malawi’s amazing work with some of the world’s most underserved children and are grateful to our investors at Sound Ventures for making the introduction to us and this important cause.”
