RSK Smart MainNet, the Bitcoin Smart Contract Blockchain, is Now on Microsoft Azure Marketplace
Microsoft is taking up a great role in the adoption process of blockchain as its wing Microsoft Azure, a cloud-based provider, added RSK smart contracts Main net as a service. The blockchain smart contracts become one of the few to be supported by Microsoft and open a new market for RSK. The RSK main net is an open source project aiming to provide Bitcoin smart contracts development platform to its users. The addition of RSK to Azure Marketplace creates an efficient platform to create decentralized applications (dApps) and a Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) on Bitcoin.
RIF Labs developed the RSK smart contracts with an aim to create cohesiveness and efficiency in creating dApps. One of the top management in RIF Labs, the CTO and RSK Strategist, Adrian Eidelman, believes the addition to the Azure Marketplace provides a gateway for the blockchain developers, from novices to experts. The problem of node deployment on the Bitcoin network has been a huge issue curbing growth and rapid development.
The integration of Bitcoin blockchain on the platform as a service will allow the developers to set up their RSK nodes in minutes. This is an improvement from the previous methods that included setting up local servers and manually installing and maintaining the RSK nodes.
Adrian further believes this quick setting up of nodes frees up much time and energy for developers to concentrate on dApp development. In a statement shared with one of the media outlets, the CTO termed the addition to Azure as a key step for RSK. He said,
“Microsoft’s support will be key to accelerate adoption of RSK technologies and the Bitcoin ecosystem.”
Microsoft Azure is a platform that has created a platform for developers to express themselves freely and RSK will offer more options to the marketplace. The director at Microsoft Azure, Sajan Parihar welcomed the new addition to the Azure Marketplace stating that the RSK smart contract dApps will benefit from them. He said,
“Through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, customers around the world can easily find, buy, and deploy partner solutions they can trust, all certified and optimized to run on Azure.”
Since the acquisition by the RIF Labs, RSK contracts have reached a broad network of blockchains past Bitcoin. The RIF Labs also plans to release new protocol implementations for the RIF operating system and a couple of new features for dApp development. Some of the features and infrastructure includes;
- Off-chain transactions for faster payments (Lumino)
- Providing storage to the network to earn fees
- Oracles in order to bring Web2 data to the RSK blockchain
- Secure communications
