Samourai Bitcoin Wallet Adds Staggered Ricochet, PayNym UX and UTXO Tagging Features

The Samourai, which is a bitcoin specialized bitcoin wallet application has just gone ahead to announce that the update of the 0.99.05 has been made available through the Google Play update for the existing testers. All you will need to do is install it from Google Play if you are a new tester, or you could build it from source on the GitHub.

The team in the company went ahead to inform their users that they will be releasing a download APK, one that will include the Stealth Mode that will be on GitHub in the next few days.

The Staggered Ricochet

It has been a long anticipated wait for the upgrades of the Ricochet, but it is finally here for implantation. It has been designed as a premium transaction that can increase the plausible deniability of the transactions taking place; this is by adding hops to the history before the transaction has reached its final destination.

This upgrade has been referred to as the Staggered Ricochet, and it has been able to decrease the fingerprints that are of the Ricochet use by the hostile exchanges together with the coin scoring platforms in the market.

The Staggered Ricochet has been designed to work adequately by following just two simple rules.

  1. Each of the Ricochet hops need to be in a different block – It has been made to be a little different from the standard Ricochet, as the standard would broadcast with the use of the time-based delay, but for this particular one it will use a single transaction hop per block.

Thus, this means merely that the Staggered Ricochet will be able to take up to two hours before it is able to reach its final destination, but all this will depend on the time variance of the blocks that are discovered.

  2. No transaction within the hop will be broadcasted to a mempool all at the same time – The clever ways that the fingerprint transactions that the blockchain technology spies are known to use a simple monitoring of the mempool. This is done together with the use of isolated metadata; this is including the first time broadcast that has been assisting in the address that is clustering the heuristics.

Staggered Ricochet went ahead to find a way to break up this method, and this is by ensuring that the transactions do not get exposed to a public mempool until it is entirely ready to get broadcast.

Some of the features you should look out for

The PayNym Helper Actions

One of the benefits of using the Samourai PayNym technology is the reliability it offers when you want to avoid reusing an address, a factor that has become a great privacy concern.

The technology is able to cryptographically generate new address on behalf of the counterparties without any communication taking place, which is also another user concern that has been addressed.

Pay Again

For the outgoing transaction taking place on the PayNym wallet, you will be able to easily initiate a direct payment to a wallet that had the address pre-filled.

The good thing is as a user you are able to see the functionality being developed to ensure it is able to encompass the reoccurring non-custodian payments that take place without the impact of your privacy.

Refund

With the wallet as a user, you will be able to return a payment back to the sender with the address and the amount being prefilled.

As a user you are able to use the power of this feature as it is able to enable some developments, it is especially so for the dynamic street merchant use.
