Samourai Wallet Users to Enjoy Enhanced Interface Updates, Privacy and Payment Fee Manager
Samourai Wallet is a privacy-oriented wallet for Bitcoin. The wallet recently announced update 0.99 for user interface and fee management aspects available to the users. The updates are available on Google Play for testers.
The interface improvement comes after user requests for a transactions detailed screen. The update will provide users with essential transaction information without exiting the application. With a simple tap on the screen, users have access to details such as the fee rates. Users also have a chance to boost transaction fees for unconfirmed transactions.
The sending screen has also been improved for a user-friendly experience. The change is essential and comes as an improvement since the alpha release in 2015. Initially, the interface packed everything into one screen but the update will break down the process. First, the user selects the recipient and the amount of Bitcoins they wish to send. This can be in BTC or Satoshis. If the transaction is to a centralized exchange, the user can enable Ricochet for origin protection from third parties.
In the second step, users can review the transaction to be made and make adjustments such as priority which affects how speedily a transaction is uploaded on the block. By simply sliding a button, the user can select left which is the lowest priority and lowest fee to the right for the highest priority hence the highest fee.
Users also have the option of switching on the STONEWALL option before sending a transaction. The option will disable when the STONEWALL cannot be created. Samourai wallet is a security and privacy oriented wallet created for better services to Bitcoin users.
About Samourai Wallet
Samourai is a mobile Bitcoin wallet developed for Android devices. The wallet focuses on providing privacy and security. It supports IP address anonymity through VPNs or TORs. It is one of the earliest wallets that incorporated SegWit and also paved way for the Lightning Network integration.
The wallet concentrates on the foundational principles of Bitcoin and has amazing security features. For example, when the application is in Stealth Mode, the shortcut disappears from the phone’s desktop. The user must dial the correct pin to activate the wallet.
Users also enjoy efficient transactions. The wallet monitors network conditions and provides an appropriate smart fee suggestion. In cases where the user undershoots the fee estimation, the wallet supports Replace by Fee which allows a fee that is set too low to be easily bumped up.
The Ricochet Send feature allows users to disguise the origin of a payment. The transaction is bounced off a series of four addresses before getting to the final destination. Users also have access to a unique Payment Codes feature that allows users to receive Bitcoins without revealing their actual address. Users only need to provide a payment code without being linked to an address. Other features include private key encryption which includes a seed phrase to reveal the private keys, backup tests, and pin security for transaction approval.
