Sausalitos Coin: German Bar Rolls Out Blockchain Rewards Program

A popular German Cocktail Bar known as Sausalitos has nearly 4 million yearly visitors, 41 restaurants, more than 900 employees with establishments across the country. The German enterprise is now starting its royalty-based program with a cryptocurrency based on the popular blockchain.

The new program is run on the ERC20 platform that is compliant with all current regulations. The rewards will be given through the company’s infrastructure of the restaurant’s partner qiibee, a simple to use plug and play platform – ideal for the loyalties that are paid out via Ethereum’s network.

New customers who use the app simply download and start getting cryptocurrency with each purchase made using a QR code. They can also then exchange the tokens for cash or loyalty tokens taken from other brands before eventually turning them into other cryptocurrencies or altcoins.

The idea isn’t new, but still intriguing to most people like with the case of qiibee, brands buy and use the cryptocurrency exchanges with QBX Tokens that will in turn spark a new smart contract that instills loyalty tokens. The company Sausalito and Latesso are also examples of new companies what work with the program, and their coins that are also tied to the QBX tokens.

The new cocktail bar has different options, like promoting a specific drink through a happy hour rush and rewarding customers with their tokens who buy the drink or promoting a specific brand for example as well.

The spokesman for the company was heard to explain the reason for moving everything to blockchain technology as well. The CEO told CCN that the company was now looking for something innovative for their customer reward program.

“It offers many options to us, including the option for our loyal customers to switch into using cryptocurrency, which is very exciting. We just had to find the right, serious partner for it and we found that with Swiss-based loyalty ecosystem qiibee. It will be a mix of options which will provide our customers with the freedom to decide. They can either choose to stay within the Sausalitosworld and get free drinks or other offers, or they can use their Sausalitos Coins in the outside world, either with other brands or trade their Sausalitos Coins for cryptocurrency or fiat.”

Stated the CEO of the company.

Co-Founder of the company, Gabriele Giancola, as well as CEO of quiibee spoke with CCN as well about the recent decision for the two companies to work together, as well as talked about the new application software using the blockchain technology in the food service industry.

“Blockchain has the potential to revolutionize many different industries. If we look specifically at the food service industry, blockchain could have a transformative impact. As we can see through qiibee’s partnership with Sausalitos, blockchain technology has huge potential from a marketing and sales perspective in terms of loyalty programs and customer data handling.

Supply chain management (determining the age, quality, origin, and tracking of ingredients for food and drinks) is another area where blockchain can play an influential part, while using cryptocurrency and blockchain to facilitate the payment process. This is particularly useful for multinational companies and will help transform the food service industry.” She said during an interview with CCN.

This is just one of such specialty reward programs being incorporated into regular business enterprises to bring cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to the mainstream public.
