New Interview With Crystal Rose and Medium Shows Passion for Blockchain and Desire to Give Opportunities to Others
Even though Medium is trying to shy away from crypto, they still maintain their responsibility as a company that thrives on interviews with people that work in some area of finance. One such interview was recently posted on their website in regard to the CEO of SENSE – Crystal Rose.
Rose expressed, throughout the interview, her love of creating communities and speaking at conferences that can help widen the understanding of this crypto venture. Her relationship with technology and coding started in her teenage years, which started her passion that would eventually lead to her own companies, agencies, and venture fund projects. She credits Satoshi, the pseudonym of the creator of Bitcoin, for gifting the publish with their impressive technology that would take over her world.
Blockchain, as a whole, excites Rose for the financial industry. When asked by the interviewer to state five things that thrill her about this industry, she gave this list:
- “Its potential to positively impact every human in the world.”
- “It makes everything on the Internet better (IoT, security, human freedom).”
- “The potential for a free market, in which all people can equally benefit.”
- “It gives us a new definition of value in the world — humans valuing their time, knowledge and information in a more positive and fair way than ever before.”
- “The shift to a truly global economy; one in which we remove borders on currency, technology and humanity.”
Even with her enthusiasm, Rose still recognizes that there are many ways that the blockchain industry, along with cryptocurrency, can fall short for consumers. Some of the concerns included manipulation and misuse, overregulation, “incumbent industries,” and centralization. During the interview, despite these concerns, she encourages investors to be generous, fearless, and serious about the passions that they have, if they want to have similar success.
The most popular project that Rose is presently working on is part of her SENSE platform, which is a decentralized messenger. This entire project worked on the EOS Blockchain, though it hasn’t been launched for public use quite yet. She works on most of her projects alongside husband Brock Piers, who she calls “fearless” and “the biggest evangelist of the Blockchain.” She also said, though its unclear if she was joking or teasing the truth, that she “cannot comment on whether or not he is Satoshi.”
Along with her role as founder and CEO of SENSE, Rose also words on the board of a foundation called Restart One, which is taking part in the efforts to innovate with cryptocurrency in Puerto Rico. She founded both a venture fund (Artemis) and a scholarship program (shEOS) that are run by all-female team members, supporting education for blockchain. She was recently named one of the top 20 influential women in the Blockchain industry.
To bring a lighter note to the end of the interview, she was asked who she would have breakfast or lunch with, if given the option of anyone in the world. She replied, “I want to have a group at my table: Oprah, Jan Koum (Founder of WhatsApp), Dan Larimer (CTO of EOS), and Satoshi.”
