ShapeShift Prism Crypto Portfolio System is No More, to Close Doors After 1.5 Years in Operation
Prism Cryptocurrency Portfolio System to Shut Down After 18 Months in Operation
Since opening the Prism cryptocurrency portfolio company a year ago, Spaceshift.io has seen an excellent reception by its users. However, in the coming month, the platform will be shut down as announced by Erik Voorhees on the Spaceshift blog.
An announcement exclusively released on the Spaceshift.io blog on September 11, 2018, Prism cryptocurrency portfolio users were informed about the imminent closure of the platform in the coming days. The development team at Spaceshift has worked tirelessly on the in the last 18 months on the system while releasing it to the public in closed beta mode.
According to the release, the development team who have been working on the system for the past year and a half called it quits on the project this week. The reasons given by Erik lie in the knowledge of a company that is working on a project very similar to Prism and may be superior to Prism’s underlying technology. This has made it impossible for the team to develop a better product and hence the exit of the company from portfolio management of digital assets.
With the product needing a total overhaul on its technology and a new imaginative design to Prism combined with the deep in work on ShapeShift’s core technology, CoinCap, KeepKey, and the inundation of activity involved in building a 120+ person organization it was wise to quit the project all together.
For these amongst other reasons led to the decision to dim the light out for Prism. This will see the development team of Spaceshift focus more on their platform and to clear the pallet for a potential reimagining of what this technology can do later on.
Furthermore Erik Voorhees thanked the users and committed followers of Prism with the feedback given to the staff making the platform better. The appreciative spirit shown by the community was also acknowledged by the CEO as most of these users were excited about the open beta launch (which had been planned just a few weeks from now).
Prism shuts down in 30 days
As of September 11, 2018 users and holders of accounts on the Prism platform have been given 30 days to close all open Prism applications before the closure in coming weeks.
Users should only close all the open Prisms at the moment before the deactivation date on 0ctober 11th 2018. For any further inquiries, users can contact the Spaceshift.io development team.
Once the date commences, all Prisms will be shut down as the site is closed and all remaining open Prisms will be automatically close sending the Ether to the address used to open the Prism account. Erik ended the release offering hope to his followers hoping this was just but a prologue for Prism.
