Siousada is a blockchain-based travel portal that aims to create a new business model for the travel industry. Find out how it works today in our review.
What Is Siousada?
Siousada is an all-in-one travel platform that uses blockchain technology to connect all aspects of the travel industry, including your lodging, transportation, leisure activities, food, and more. The end result is that anyone can use Siousada to easily arrange and schedule travel plans while facilitating payment between multiple parties.
Basically, Siousada wants to create a blockchain-based travel agent that offers lower fees. It connects travelers directly with a network of operators. Tourists don’t need to work with a middleman or a centralized party.
The company has already partnered with Tourism Malaysia, and multiple Chinese tourist boards. Some of the proposed destinations that will be offered through the Siousada platform include Mantanani Island, Dinawan Island, Mount Kinabalu, and Sipadan Island. The initial goal is to cover Sabah with the pilot project, then spread across Southeast Asia to other destinations.
Benefits Of Siousada
Siousada is aiming to offer all of the following benefits when it launches:
- All-in-One: Safe, reliable travel options are available across the industry from one single platform.
- Lower Fees: Siousada will focus on operators with a high and consistent volume of tourists, which means lower fees across the board.
- Easy Dispute Resolution: Service is delivered based on the recorded transaction on the blockchain, making it easy for Siousada to resolve disputes whenever they occur.
- Global Exposure: Siousada will allow international customers and international travel bookings.
- Cryptoken: Siousada accepts SSD tokens.
The Siousada Token Sale
1 ETH will buy you 3,5000 Siousada tokens, or SSD. SSDs are Ethereum ERC20-compliant tokens. There’s a total supply of 1 billion SSD tokens. 800 million tokens are available in the public token sale (officially called a “token swap”), while 200 million are reserved for the company.
The pre-sale is scheduled for September 22 to September 28, while the general token sale is scheduled for September 29 to October 12.
After the token swap, Siousada plans to start project development on November 1, 2017. The portal is estimated to be live and ready to onboard local partners from Sabah in February 2018. By June, they’ll onboard operators from the rest of Asia, and from December, they’ll onboard operators from the rest of the world.
There’s a minimum sales target of 10,000 ETH and a maximum sales target of 200,000 ETH.
How To Use Siousada
Siousada’s platform doesn’t actually exist. However, when it launches, it should make it relatively easy to book travel plans. Here’s the step by step plan outlined in the whitepaper:
- Step 1) Visit Siousada.com
- Step 2) Select your travel package from a list of available packages
- Step 3) Checkout and pay using SSD tokens
- Step 4) Confirm your booking
Users will have an SSD wallet available via mobile app or desktop. They can use the wallet to buy or sell SSD tokens, or to send money to the platform.
The Siousada whitepaper has a mockup of how their UI will look when the platform is released. The mockup in the whitepaper is identical to Trivago.com’s booking screen. Obviously, Siousada is still in the early stages of development.
Who’s Behind Siousada?
Siousada is led by Sharir Nizam Sahak (CEO),Rahman Omar (Chief Marketing Officer), Fahmi Taib (Chief Operating Officer), and Rohaizad Omar (Chief Financial Officer).
The company describes itself as “a team of self-taught, crypto enthusiasts who love the potential of blockchain technology in building a better community.”
Siousada is a blockchain-based travel booking platform that is currently in the early stages of development. The company doesn’t appear to have a prototype or any platform available to the public at the moment. However, they’re expecting to start development in November, then be ready to onboard Malaysian tour operators at the beginning of 2018, before expanding across Southeast Asia and the world before the end of the year.
