Skrill recently extended its range of financial services to include digital asset transactions within its network. It will now be possible for Skrill users to purchase cryptocurrencies through the platform.
At the moment, Skrill is a perfect vehicle & opportunity towards crypto adoption given the platform has over 30 million clients. These people will now be easily exposed to Ether, Bitcoin & other altcoins within the Skrill network. Ideally, the purchases will be made via Skrill wallets & the firm is optimistic that its client base will increase as a result.
Furthermore, the cryptocurrency enthusiasts can now leverage Skrill to obtain their crypto portfolio given the company’s credibility. This move also benefits short term profit seekers & long term HODL crypto community participants who have to alter their portfolios from time to time.
Skrill Crypto Service
As of press date, Skrill’s services in cryptocurrency extend to four major digital assets; Ether, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash & Bitcoin. Interested buyers have over 100 alternative ways to make the payments with at least 40 being fiat currencies.
Existing customers as well as the new entrants who operate the Skrill crypto service won’t be subjected to extra I.D verifications for them to trade crypto coins. The company has set the buying & selling commission for EUR and USD at 3% & 1.5% respectively.
Skrill’s crypto services have already been integrated with over 30 nations where the service operates right now. The major countries making the list are; Spain, France, South Africa & UK amongst others. However, it is the company’s intention to scale its services to other jurisdictions in the near future.
The next move by Skrill in this milestone is integrating its mobile app with the crypto trading services. Skrill plans on leveraging the Paysafe Group, Neteller digital wallet for the operation of this ecosystem.
Skrill & the Fame!
The company was launched back in 2001 where it was named Moneybookers. However, the firm later changed to Skrill in 2013 after making headlines within the UK markets. Its fundamental value in money transfers & payments earned Skrill a top position private equity firm in 2010 according to Sunday Times classification.
Besides its fame in cash transfers, Skrill has been known to come in handy with funding 3rd party accounts. In this case, the gaming industry participants have shown the highest usage of the service. A couple games that require funding with real currencies to play online can easily be linked with the Skrill payment service.
Examples of games that can be funded via this avenue include online Casino Cruise; gamers can play a range of roulettes after funding their gaming accounts through skrill.
Skrill has also been accepted by a couple crypto players hence HODLers can use the platform to fund the exchange wallets. So far, the payment service is compatible with BitPanda & eToro crypto exchanges. Alternatively, one can use a MasterCard offered by Skrill & backed by the funds in your account for daily transactions.
The company’s active customer base is subject to confirmation but its 35 million account ownership stats are clearly a plus for the integrated coins. It makes it easier for new crypto entrants who were still trying to figure out how to buy crypto coins yet they operate on Skrill.
Skrill CEO, Lorenzo Pellegrino, assured the target market that they will link their services with a trustable cryptocurrency exchange. He added that they are excited to be moving into the fast growing cryptocurrency market & linking the masses with the latest money tech!
