Soccer Players Iniesta, Puyol & Peña Start New Blockchain Social Network
Soccer Players Iniesta and Puyol Announce New Blockchain-Powered Social Network
Carles Puyol and Andrés Iniesta, two recognized football players from the Spanish national team and Barcelona FC, decided to launch a blockchain powered social network known as Olyseum. The app has been presented with Iván de la Peña and has been developed for sport lovers.
The CEO, Carlos Grenoir and the Chief Security Officer, Kevin Mitnick, were also present at the launch. Olyseum will test the network among fans during the FIFA World Cup that has started yesterday with a Football match between Russia and Saudi Arabia, where the Russian team won 5-0.
The platform has been created because of a shared desire that Puyol, Iniesta and Peña had. The intention was to form a closer and more meaningful relationship with their football fans. Back in 2016 on the initial launch, Olyseum was the most downloaded sports app from the App Store in six different countries.
The Former Barcelona FC Captain, Carles Puyol, Explains:
“Throughout my career with FC Barcelona, I’ve had the unwavering support of millions of fans worldwide. With the desire to expand the limits of real and genuine participation of fans, Andrés, Iván and I joined together to create a collaborative space for lovers of this beautiful sport and interact with users moved by the same feeling.”
It is important to mention that Olyseum’s CEO Carlos Grenoir has a masters degree in Information Security and Neuroscience. At the moment he is working on his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Telecommunications. Moreover, he has created a company known as Quantum Fields Technologies, that specializes in security projects, research and development in artificial intelligence (AI), and social networks.
He says that there has always been a disconnection between idols and fans, which is quite limiting for the engagement. Olyseum wants to bridge the gap by creating a social network that will connect individuals and idols.
In the future Olyseum wants to introduce an incentive program that will be powered by smart contracts for fans that are contributing to the community. The contributions will be rewarded with merchandise, VIP tickets, and unique experiences with idols. Additionally, there are other plans for the next years to make the social networks even more attractive.
Grenoir Explains About It:
“We firmly believe that fans deserve to share the success of their idols, and now there is a platform that supports this vision. We are honored to be the enablers of dreams, bringing fans and idols closer together.”
